The recall election will likely occur on November 5, 2024. If Price is removed, the Alameda County Board of Supervisors will appoint a replacement to serve until the November 2026 general election.
I'm curious where you get your information about Pamela Price needing to leave office "immediately" if recall succeeds? Chesa Boudin's recall election was held on June 5th, but he did not vacate office until July 8th when a successor was appointed. Likewise, I would assume Price would stay in office until her successor is appointed to replace her. How could she vacate the office and there be no one to replace her?
I haven't looked at SF County Code, but it is possible that they still have their own recall laws (as Alameda did until this spring). County code supersedes State Election Code concerning recall elections.
Thank you, Mr. Gardner, for this extremely comprehensive, fact-driven, informative and wonky (that's a compliment) essay.
Excellent reporting. Keep it up.

Section 11382 of State Election Code, as cited in the article.
I wonder why then, in Chesa's case, he remained in office until July 8th, over a month after he was voted out.
